Ayurvedic Tooth Clenser: Activated Charcoal from Rice

In Indian Ayurvedic medicinal practice activated charcoal is used for dental cleaning. This activated charcoal is made of rice husk which is soft on the tooth. Paddy without the rice is put on smoke fire (no real fire) and the resultant charcoal is mixed with salt and used for tooth cleaning. Charcoal of paddy cover or “umikari” in Malayalam, is famous for Ayurvedic treatment.
